Clinical Interests

Hiren works as a general neurosurgeon and has expertise in managing patients with brain injury from trauma and brain haemorrhage. He manages patients with a wide variety of conditions that affect the blood vessels of the brain including aneurysms, avm's, and cavernomas. He is a national expert in Subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) and is the only neurosurgeon in the country that is able to treat patients with open or endovascular surgery.

Research Interests

Subarachnoid Haemorrhage, Head Injury, Intracerebral Haemorrhage, Surgical site infection Arteriovenous malformations. He works collaboratively with basic scientists, stroke physicians and the research delivery team and has had a grant income ( as chief investigator or co-applicant) of approximately £2,000,000 over the last 5 years.
