About the MCCN

The Manchester Centre of Clinical Neurosciences (MCCN) is one of the busiest Neuroscience Units in the UK with outstanding clinical care given to patients across a range of conditions. It includes the specialties of NeurologyNeurosurgeryNeuropsychologyStroke Medicine, and Spinal Surgery.

In order to provide this high quality care there is a further range of specialist departments, including Neurophysiology, Neuroanaesthesia and Neurointensive care.

At the MCCN, we aim to provide first class neuroscience care to all patients with neurological and spinal disorders across Greater Manchester - whether planned care, out-patient care, or emergency and acute care.

Whilst the adult service is based at Salford Royal, we are committed to a One Manchester approach to Neurosciences, working closely with colleagues at other Hospitals - notably Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and The Christie Hospital - to provide the highest standard of care.

We are also committed to innovation and research, and we have developed a close working relationship with the University of Manchester as well as other academic institutions in Manchester, across the UK, and elsewhere in the world.
