Karla completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology in 1996 and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2001.
She completed her final year specialist placement at Salford Royal, working in both general medicine and pain management.
Having completed her Clinical Psychology Doctorate in 2001, Karla took up a post at the Manchester and Salford Pain Centre, where she has worked ever since, specialising in the management of chronic pain.
Her main interests include work with young adults and the involvement of significant others in chronic pain management interventions.
She is currently the lead psychologist for both the neuromodulation and facial pain aspects of the service.
